Workshops for children of school age

We spend our Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings at The Place Theatre, Bedford.
These workshops are for children of school age and run from 4-5 pm and 5.30-6.30pm on Fridays and from 9-10.30 am and 11-12.30 pm on Saturdays including a workshop exclusively for teenagers (with younger children tending to be in the earlier workshops) We warmly welcome all children to our workshops, by providing a calm, inclusive and safe space which is non competitive or judgmental.
Children are left in our care and all our staff hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
Working with a wide variety of materials and techniques we make our workshop programme as varied as possible. We continually look at the world around us for inspiration, the work of artists and craft people, including local creatives (who we sometimes invite along to deliver something really special!)
We love to re-use and recycle but also work with specialist art materials, recognising that the experience of this, even with young children, can be rewarding and exciting, encouraging children to work with care, intent and appreciation.
